The amazing visuals on display in the demonstration videos from OreoShaman are captured on a PC rig featuring an Intel i5-8400, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 2080 Ti, which means those who pick up an RTX 3070 can expect similar results, though the card will likely be difficult to get ahold of. Called Realism Beyond, the mod utilizes features like ray-tracing and ambient occlusion to give a much more rich and realistic lighting model to the city of Los Santos than it had when Rockstar first released GTA5 back in 2013. But while this new mod might use similar technological techniques, the end result is quite a different look.Ī modder by the name of OreoShaman released a trailer for the visual overhaul mod, and it has already garnered over a million views. There have been more than a few mods for the visuals of Grand Theft Auto 5, including NaturalVision Evolved from modder Razed, which also utilizes ray-tracing for a global illumination effect. And while it certainly isn’t the first graphical mod for the game, a new mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 gives the game a fresh coat of paint. Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto franchise is no stranger to mods, as many GTA games have received them, and they never seem to stop coming either: even 2002's Vice City is receiving mods 18 years later.
